The music repeats
A chorus can look like every other chorus. Resolve’s waveform match has nothing unique to hold. Latch checks the placement against the original audio before it trusts it.
When Resolve will not align the cameras.
You selected the clips. You ran Auto Align using waveform. One camera landed. The others sat there, or every chorus snapped to the wrong chorus. That is not a broken install. Resolve is aligning short, distinct sounds. A long set against a recorder is a different job.
Latch listens to each camera against the master recording on your Mac, then writes a DaVinci Resolve timeline. It does not use file clocks or jammed timecode. Original files are never copied or changed. Sync is free. Export needs a license.
Why waveform align slips
The clocks were never jammed
Creation times drift. Timecode was never jammed. Auto Align has no clock to believe, so it guesses from a noisy PA. Latch ignores the clock and listens.
The clap is not the show
A stick hit in a room mic is easy. A three-hour recording with talk, songs, and a buried clap is not. Latch places the whole clip against the recorder, not one transient.
Open the Latch timeline in Resolve
Export writes a Final Cut Pro 7 XML that DaVinci Resolve can import. Cameras land on their own tracks. The recorder starts on A1. Original files stay where they are; relink if Resolve asks.
- In Resolve, choose File → Import → Timeline.
- Select the XML Latch wrote.
- Relink to the original camera and master-audio files if Resolve asks.

Empty
The first video track stays black on purpose.
Cameras
Each angle lands on its own video track, paired with its scratch audio when you asked for it.
Master
The recorder starts on A1. That is the track you cut to.
If some clips failed sync, the file name includes unverified. Inspect those clips before you lock the cut.
Why does DaVinci Resolve Auto Align not work?
Resolve Auto Align using waveform works on short, distinct clips. It slips on long music, repeated choruses, buried claps, and cameras whose clocks were never jammed. Latch matches each camera to the master recording by listening to the audio, then exports a Resolve timeline.
How do I sync camera audio to a master recorder for Resolve?
Drop the cameras and the recorder into Latch. Synchronize on your Mac. Review the tiles. Export writes a Final Cut Pro 7 XML. In Resolve, choose File → Import → Timeline, then relink original media if Resolve asks.
Can I align multicam without jammed timecode?
